OnePlus 3 is Officially here!

Oneplus 3 Launch india

OnePlus has made official, their latest android smartphone - OnePlus 3. The phone after so many leaks which had revealed most of the features was officially launched via Loop VR event. The phone is immediately available for purchase WITHOUT INVITES.

Yes! The infamous invite system is gone for good. People can now buy the device without having to wait for an invite or open sales. The device is available in multiple variants and two colour options.

The specs of the phone are as follows:

  • 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Chipset with Adreno 530 GPU
  • 5.5" Optic Amoled display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and gorilla glass 4 protection
  • Improved fingerprint sensor on the front
  • Aluminium Unibody
  • 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 and OIS & EIS
  • 8MP front camera
  • 6GB RAM
  • 64GB Internal storage with no expansion options
  • Dual Nano Sim slots and 4G LTE connectivity
  • 3000mAh battery
  • DASH CHARGE capability that gives 60% battery in just 30 mins
  • Runs on Oxygen OS 3.1.1 based on Android 6.0.1
  • NFC support

Interesting this is that the company has marketed this device without any mention of "NEVER SETTLE" and "FLAGSHIP KILLER". They have used the line "It's about time" with the new device. This may be a sign of maturity by the fairly new company given the goof-ups that plagued the previous device launches and the aftermath.

Initial impressions:

The phone has a sealed body unlike the removable back panels on the OnePlus One and Two. The OP3 comes with a USB type-C (v2.0) at the bottom. The headphone jack has been moved to the bottom of the phone and the speaker grill is also at the bottom of the phone, The overall bottom portion resembles that of the iPhone. NFC antenna makes a comeback (YAY!). The rear camera is bumped to 16MP with OIS and f/2.0 aperture (sigh...)  with 4K shooting capabilities. The front camera is a 8MP one with EIS. There's a range of accessories for this phone to make it even cooler. At a price tag of Rs. 27999/- it is a fair deal, but could've been better in my opinion.
